Caladium Festival 2011

The 21th annual Caladium Festival was held in Lake Placid on August 26 and 27. The festival featured booths with caladium plants and bulbs, arts and crafts displays along with lots of food and entertainment. 

The Lake Placid Garden Club coordinated the Floral Design Competition held at the Caladium Co-op. The competition featured 14 entries of cut fresh flower material with no less than 80 percent being caladiums. The designs were judged by members of the Garden Club and a representative of the Caladium Co-op. First place was awarded to Connie Watson. The "People's Choice" category allowed the public to vote on their favorite arrangement. Louise Andrea won the public's vote.
